My key objectives are…

• Dereham Infrastructure – Greens say 'no' to more housing until the infrastructure of Dereham is adapted to cope. We have only half the open spaces deemed acceptable for our population. We need the traffic congestion reduced and better pedestrian and cycle facilities.

• Public transport – I would like to see low cost, reliable and integrated public transport. As the start of this we will campaign for Dereham to have a proper bus station.

• Waste recycling facilities – The Greens find it incredible that we still have no Council-run recycling and disposal facilities after Beetley closed in October 2004! Trips to Ashill or Hempton are not justifiable.

• Community projects – To encourage and support local community projects, I will work with other local Councillors to improve the effectiveness of the Council.

• Encouraging public debate – The Greens promote open debate and want public opinion to be LISTENED TO. I will represent your concerns so please get in touch

Personal Note:

I have campaigned vigorously over traffic congestion and safety issues in Toftwood and not just at election time! The traffic congestion around the schools and pedestrian safety on the humpback bridge still needs to be remedied. This would help to ensure that the Toftwood area is safe and pleasant for all.

In other areas we have seen that Green Party Councillors have helped to calm the political tension found between the major parties. This enables the Council to concentrate on the best interests of local people rather than political point scoring.

I am married and have lived in Toftwood since 1991. Fortunately, being self-employed as an Electronics Design Engineer, my work time is flexible enough to allow me to attend local events and see local problems. My son and daughter both attend schools in Toftwood.
