JeffMy key objectives are

  • The Village – We need more affordable accommodation in Weeting but that should only happen if the other services like sewerage, water, health and school facilities are able to cope with the bigger population.

  • The School – Needs to be expanded if future Weeting children are to have the chance of attending. We must also resist the attempts of the Ely Church Authorities to take over our school and its land.
The school travel plan also needs to be supported in its attempts to encourage more walking to school and more considerate car parking in and around Parrott’s Piece.

  • Waste Recycling Facilities – Breckland is the worst performing council of all those surrounding us as far as recycling is concerned. I will work hard to improve this area if elected.

  • The Village Hall – The road leading to the hall has been badly neglected for many years. I promise to do everything in my power to get it repaired – along with the road to the Church and the castle.

I will represent your concerns so please get in touch

Personal Note:

I have been actively involved in village affairs for twelve years and have served on the Parish Council for six years, one of them as Chair. I started and then ran the taxi voucher scheme for the Parish Council, which was much appreciated by the older members of the village. There is still a need for more public transport to serve the village.

I am not interested in party politics for the sake of them. I think the involvement of the large national parties in our village is not necessary.

In other areas we have seen that Green Party Councillors have helped to calm the political tension found between the major parties. This enables the Council to concentrate on the best interests of local people rather than political point scoring.

I am married and have lived in Weeting since 1995. I have been closely involved with Weeting 21 as a volunteer and I am a school governor at Methwold. I currently work part time as a Probation Officer and know at first hand the importance of there being good local facilities in our communities.
